(1) According to rule 15, the person who has received the permit for mining work shall complete the mining work of very small level, small level, medium level and large level of minerals within a period of ten years, fifteen years, twenty years and thirty years respectively. But in the case of cement level limestone mineral extraction work, the initial period for very small level will be fifteen years and for small level the initial period will be up to twenty years.
(2) If the mining work cannot be completed within the period as per sub-rule (1) and the period needs to be extended, the person who has obtained the mining permit shall apply to the department for extension of the period three months before the expiry of the period, attaching the annual production progress statement as per schedule-9. .
(3) If an application is received according to sub-rule (2), the department shall conduct necessary investigations and extend the period as per the request, and if deemed necessary, within one month of receiving the application, take additional fees as per schedule-4 for mining of very small scale, small scale, medium scale and large scale mineral materials. The period can be extended for up to one year, two years, five years and ten years respectively.
